Great article! I’m currently working on some stuff that’s run up against its boundaries due to lack of APIs.
The thing that has me worried about security with web-scraping is this answer from Quora about how Mint.com stores such user credentials (which is pretty intense): http://www.quora.com/How-do-mint-com-and-similar-websites-avoid-storing-passwords-in-plain-text
What are your thoughts on security? I noticed your #1 todo for BingeWatcher is “Add front end for user registration & hide sensitive user data.”, which is great, but ultimately at the end of the day you have to store usernames and passwords (which are less expendable than API tokens) in a DB, right?
