On Tuesday, April 22, 2015’s “Outstanding Professor” died of cancer. Elizabeth Billson, 58, past away after a 36-year career in educating the future teachers of United States. Billson did not allow her ten-year battle with the deadly disease to prevent her from educating over 10,000 future educators and receiving a education award for her service to the university and the students.

There was a brutal truck collision on the interstate, Tuesday, April 22. Driving down a section of I-59 undergoing repairs, two truck drivers fell victim to the narrow lanes and collided head on after attempting to brake. While both drivers were unhurt, the crash caused an oil slick, a 45-minute traffic jam, and a $10,000 loss of one of the trucks refrigerated cargoes. Despite the less than perfect road conditions, both drivers were cited for speeding and for reckless driving.
