Setup and Charging,
It is so fast and efficient to setup — Leave the annoying and dumb cables out! Just Attach the Apple pencil to the ipad pro. It is even a quick way to check the battery. Does not use more than %5 ipad battery life, and that is good!
Efficiency
So efficient to use! You will get to get access to lots of tools, and yiu can even shade using the pencil, or even hover over a link! Quickly change between selected tool and rubber, color pattlete, or selected tool and last tool. It also lets you write in search fields, and even write a little note by tapping in the screen. Is better than a dumb cheap styles, and is worth the hard earned money, for a hard earned apple penci. The delay has not changed, which was good anyways.
Cost?
Um, not sure about the cost. A bit expensive, but worth it. You can get discounts from other shops, which saved lots of my money! From apple in Australia, it was $200 when I brought it. Got it for less than $160. Paired with my iPad pro. Good. Also, consider the cost, like I did. I call the cost “Average”.
Battery life
You might be thinking about what the battery life is. STOP GUESSING! it is 12 hours. 1 or 2 charges a day will be ok. Battery life depends on how you use your Apple Pen 2nd Generation. The battery ranges from Average to Good.
Hardware improvements
The major thing is, They have upgraded from usb-c to wireless charging, which means no cables (which are a bit annoying). Before, a cap or a slider had to be taken off, which means the connector, or the slot, or the cap, may get damaged or lost. (So, buy additional support plans for this proudct if this concerns you) There is pressure and shade sensors on it itt, to enhance your experience. The tip can be replaced like the other gens, they stopped putting replacements in the box unless you get a low tier, unsupported apple pencil, which is the first gen. You can buy a 4 pack at apple stores, like when you think you may need a replacement. We did not replace our pencil tips of like a year or two.
Double Tap or Side Tap gresture
The lower third on all sides, contains a useful and mysterious action button. App developers are also exitced. about this, and they may add support for their apps. Apple’s side tap feature let people do actions like switching between current tool and eeaser, controlling stuff and more! It can be customized for what happens when you do this while Drawing in Apple Pencil Settings. We will expect more from this feature when time comes, and app devs use lots of apis from apple including the Apple Pen Double Tap api!
Our thoughts on the pencil
We think that the pencil is very good, and it is good we missed out on apples mistake — the semi-useful usb-c apple pen. We also like Apple’s Quick Action, the Side Tap! You can quickly earase something, then swithx back to the current brush. The response time is VERY fast. The best apple pen yet! We have so much more to say, but you can look it up yourself.
