Here’s how to ‘borrow’ a database for your restaurant and then make it your own

4 steps…

When you decide on promoting your restaurant to advertise new menu items or offer a ‘deal’ you’ll want to get the word out to as many people around you as possible and quickly!

If you don’t have a large list of people to contact, you’ll consider ‘borrowing an audience’ from Facebook (who also own Instagram). With this platform active on 17million South African smartphones, it’s a great place to get your message out.

You can pay Facebook to ‘borrow’ a focussed segment of this audience (for example) 5km around your shop. Depending on your area, this means 150 000 to 350 000 people.

It’s important to know that these people belong to Facebook and not to your business. As a result, you need to ‘warm this cold audience up’ to YOUR brand.

When you go to a party and meet new people, think of how you act towards them. They’re not already your friends, but you have the opportunity to befriend them. Think of how you’d do that…

Facebook’s throwing a party and you’re invited. Here are 4 steps you can take to warm up this cold audience:

  1. Facebook (FB) LOVE your videos. Their users want to watch videos and FB isn’t in the business of making movies. CREATE and POST your video, FB will offer you a discounted rate to ‘push’ or ‘boost’ it to that audience. Paying for video views on FB is money well spent. Especially when the videos are entertaining/interesting.
  2. FB is so keen on this, that they’re even prepared to KEEP TRACK of your video viewers and will allow you to send (retarget) THOSE people (with) more messages.
  3. Your video introduces YOUR BRAND to the cold audience and lines-the-viewers-up to hear from you again, later. Now, offer them your deal. This can be done in the form of a still image post. The wording to focus on how your customer’s life will improve when they make use of your offer.
  4. Don’t forget to add your SHOP NOW button to these posts, so that you can achieve the desired result — more money in the till!

Put your next promo on a stage and ensure it reaches the audience it deserves. A little thought and some new skills (which you’ll KEEP USING) is worth all the effort.

Your growing community of cyber food consumers is worth substantial money to you. Learn how to engage them or lose out on your own online orders, table reservations and social media motivated walk-in business. Add 5 online orders to 5 table reservations and 5 extra walk-ins per day, multiply that x $30 and you’ll see that you could be missing out on more than $13 000 per month.

Turn every promotional idea into money in the till.
