“Don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into union with the Messiah Jesus were baptized into his death?” (Romans 6:3)
Apostle Paul reiterates the importance of the Christian baptism here. He says, those who all are baptized into Christ were baptized into his death. What does that mean? It means, when we baptize we die to this world in order to live a new Christian life. This was the reason, Jesus after taking the Baptism, committed himself wholly to do God’s work. He spread the word of God, encouraged his disciples and always prayed. The followers of Jesus Christ have also taken the same baptism and made an agreement with God to live a pure Christian life. So, we must everyday recollect our baptismal covenant and walk according to it. If we break our agreement, God will not be pleased with us. However, if we are willing to obey his covenant, surely God will forgive us and guide us in the right path. Amen!
