"Give my greetings to the brothers and sisters at Laodicea, and to Nympha and the church in her house" (Colossians 4:15)

The early Church believers, mostly gathered in their homes. There are many scriptural verses which affirms that. It was a period where the church was growing gradually, so the believers thought it would be easy for them to gather in their homes. The word ‘Church’ was taken from the Greek word 'Ecclesia', which means, ‘an assembly or gathering’. Thus, the ‘Christian gathering’ is defined as the church, and not the building! Jesus also said, he is there, if two or three gather in his name. So, even if two people gather in the name of Christ, it is called as the church. Hence, we are His church. This does not mean we should not gather in a specific place. At the same time, we must understand that, it is just a building. We clean the place and keep it incensed, which is good, but what is even more important is that, our gathering must be filled with the spirit and truth. Because, God does not judge us by the size of the building we visit or by the number of people gather. He will judge us by our works of faith! Hence, let our gathering be filled with the spirit and truth. Amen!
