I’d like to connect this to what you wrote in Getting to 10x (Results): What Any Developer Can Learn from the Best.
I’ve also noticed that a large number of developers want to improve. What they seem to struggle with is knowing what to work on and how to work on it.
- You make it quite clear that you think compassion is a key skill worth improving. I agree. But “how to work on it”?
- Passion seems to be a more well understood (and asked for) quality than compassion within the developer community. Why do you think that is?
- What do you think are the key differences between passion and compassion?
By all means an interesting read. I have never thought of compassion in this way within the context of software development.
