I’d like to connect this to what you wrote in Getting to 10x (Results): What Any Developer Can Learn from the Best.

I’ve also noticed that a large number of developers want to improve. What they seem to struggle with is knowing what to work on and how to work on it.

  1. You make it quite clear that you think compassion is a key skill worth improving. I agree. But “how to work on it”?
  2. Passion seems to be a more well understood (and asked for) quality than compassion within the developer community. Why do you think that is?
  3. What do you think are the key differences between passion and compassion?

By all means an interesting read. I have never thought of compassion in this way within the context of software development.
