I meet the ‘be-the-person’ “founder” all the time. Every Meetup, networking event, or startup happy hour, they’re telling me about all their awesome ideas and all the awesome events and their ‘totally unique’ theories on ______.

It’s very different from the 1 in 100 that you know from the first second the depth of their conviction, that they’re here only because they couldn’t focus on the monitor anymore after an all-night session, who feels guilty for being anywhere but building, and who is GOING TO MAKE THIS WORK.

And honestly, it’s worth stumbling through the first 99 eye-gouging, eye-rolling, mind-numbing conversations to get to the really driven folks.
