Why You Should Not Raise Venture Capital
Pascal Finette

Great post, enforcing a really important idea.

Unfortunately, the whole ecosystem — not just startups — has aligned itself around traditional VC. Expectations have been established not just in the minds of new entrepreneurs, but new investors and supporting organizations, as well as the press. That means, although alternatives like Indie.vc (and arguably Matter.) are available, they are still by far in the minority. Other playbooks are also less prominent.

As well as being dangerous for the individual startups, I think it could pose a longer-term danger to the health of the ecosystem as a whole. I’m curious about what you think solutions here might be?
