Urbit and the Not-So-Dark Future of the Internet
Isaac Simpson

I strongly disagree that Urbit is separable from its founder’s beliefs and writings, in the same way that Peter Thiel’s business activities are inseparable from his support of Trump.

I don’t think it’s ethical or wise to support any project whose primary supporter has had a part in white supremacist philosophy. Whether the project is or isn’t viable is moot: by supporting it, we support him. The people who work on the platform are also people who aren’t repelled by this ideology — so it’s likely to not be limited to him.

And many people will agree with me. Moldbug is a liability which will inhibit the growth of this platform. There are others with similar goals — I think it’s wise to look somewhere else.
