I’ve been putting my words up on Medium for a few months now, so you’re probably wondering why I ended up on this website in the first place (or you’re not, and I’m just projecting words into the endless Internet abyss).
My half-Filipino homeboy Gerald Sturgill wanted me to shine some light on myself, so here’s a bit about me and my love for words.
Why did you start writing?
When I was eight years old, I remember being nose-deep in books and discovering that I could build magical worlds out of words on paper too. The books I read only fuelled my imagination for filling up any blank piece of paper in front of me.
And it came so easily to me — filling a notebook with words felt as natural to me as breathing. Regardless of whether these words were good, I always had them bubbling over inside of me, threatening to spill out onto a blank canvas.
