The big day is just around the corner! We’re very excited to launch our first NFT collection and share more comprehensive details about BeraTone on Sunday, January 21st. This article will go over everything you need to know about our reveal trailer event and the process of minting a Founder’s Sailcloth NFT.
The Founder’s Sailcloth NFT will be your first entry into the enchanting world of BeraTone. We aim to recreate the magic of the OG Bong Bears NFT, where all future Berachain mainnet product releases accrue to this inaugural collection. As one of the earliest Berachain projects officially incubated by Build-A-Bera, we want to make this release as fair as possible. This mint will be open to the public. No whitelist will be required.
Details about the Founder’s Sailcloth NFT:
This item is an exclusive in-game sailcloth pattern for your boat (yes, you have a boat), featuring the iconic BeraTone Founder’s emblem. *Please note the final in-game sail design may change slightly.
Holders are able to participate in early demo testing phases of BeraTone and are given access to an exclusive Discord channel to discuss gameplay development with the BeraTone Technologies team.

The rules of the mint are as follows:
- Each wallet can mint up to 4 Founder’s Sailcloth NFTs
- Over a 24h period you can bid whatever you’d like to pay for a Founder’s Sailcloth NFT. Bids can be increased at any time but cannot be canceled
- The top 870 bids will win a Founder’s Sailcloth NFT, but everyone will pay the price of the lowest winning bid. 18 will be sent to the BeraTone treasury, reserved for partner protocols (more on this soon) and giveaways.
- The minimum bid is 0.1E
- Bids cannot be canceled, but they can be changed (more details below)
- The minimum you can raise your bid is .01E
- The auction will end at a random time determined by a random number generator within the last 3 hours of the auction (15:00–18:00 EST or 20:00–23:00 UTC, January 22)
We think this is the best option because it means nobody will over or underpay for a Founder’s Sailcloth NFT, everyone will get the same price, and it gives an opportunity to bootstrap a healthy budget for developing the game!
Here’s exactly how it will work:
- When you visit the Founder’s Sailcloth NFT Mint Auction website you will see the following home page:
2. After connecting your wallet you will be presented with the below UI. Here you can decide how many Founder’s Sailcloth NFTs you want to bid on and the maximum you want to pay for each:
3. Clicking “place bid” will open your Ethereum wallet so you can sign the transaction and make your bid. Don’t worry, if you don’t win, you will not lose this ETH.
4. You can then monitor the leaderboard to see if you have one of the winning bids or not.
5. If you fall off the leaderboard or want to update your bid, the UI will be available to do so. To prevent bots from spamming bids and removing them at the last second, bids cannot be decreased, but they can be increased. For instance, if you bid on 3 for .33E each and the lowest bid is .4, you can update your bid to be 2 for .5E each without adding more ETH. If you need more ETH the UI will reflect it so you can add.
Throughout the process there will be a bid distribution graph so it’s easy to see how the overall auction is going.

Q: What if the lowest winning bid is .4E and multiple people bid .4E but there isn’t enough for all of them?
A: It’s first come first serve. If multiple wallets place equivalent bids, bids will be given preference based on time made. The earliest of the bidders will be the winners.
Q: Can I choose which Founder’s Sailcloth NFT I bid on?
A: No, the winning bidders will all receive identical Founder’s Sailcloth NFTs.
Q: When is the first BeraTone closed demo test for holders of the Founder’s Sailcloth NFT?
