Daily Life Routine

Your daily life might be like anyone else, you wake up, you eat, you wash your teeth, you have to get a shower, then you go to your school or work, you do your duties, you go and eat again, you get home and finish what you have to do for the next day, then you might take a break so you can spend some time with you family or friends, you eat again and when you realise it your day is over… We spend so much time in our routine, that this routine becomes our life. How is it OK that ‘free people’ live exactly the same as prisoners? We have a schedule, we have a uniform, we have time to eat and to entertain ourselves and we also have our chores. So, its life as prisoners really worth it? Is it really worth it to live in a place where appearances are more important than what we really are? Is it worth living in a place where ‘Keeping up with the Kardashians’ is more relevant in the news than what is going on in the real world, the wars, the insecurity, all the people dying? It is just amazing how right was Albert Einstein when he said ‘Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I’m not sure about the universe.’ We live in a world where we think we live how we want but we actually live how we were instructed to. We do things that are socially accepted, we do things that are socially accepted, we study and work because that was what we were taught to, but is that how we really should do it? Some people in my class probably wont even be alive in 10 years, and if that happens… What did their 25 or 26 years of living consisted in? Nothing but study, other classmates might never finish their careers or even drop out of school; In the other hand, some of them might study and become amazing professionals, but in a world of 7.125 billion people, is that relevant at all? Every person alive is less than 0.000000001% in the world, so those it really matters? Does it matter if we are a 4.0 GPA student or a poor uneducated homeless man? For each and everyone of us it does, but when will we start doing stuff that matters, things that can help the ill ones, affected people in wars, people who will save more places becoming what nowadays is Venezuela? When will one single person matter? When will the news show us the real side of the world, not if Justin Bieber changed his look nor if an actress got their nude pictures leaked. At least, I, want to know about crime, about ways to help people in Africa, If North Korea will start feeding their people or if there is a real way to help with pollution. I am writing this as an English assignment, but I really want whoever reads this, to go deeper than just words. I want you as a reader to think about what I am writing, I want you to try and do something about it. Because life where we only care about ourselves is just not worth living.
