Bert Bedrosian — Soldiers’ Lives Portrayed in Limited Release Movie

BENTONVILLE, Ark. — A popular music headliner in Bentonville this weekend promoted a film on the war in Afghanistan.

Joe Walsh wrote a song for the movie, “Citizen Soldier.”

It tells the story of a group of soldiers in the Oklahoma Army National Guard fighting in Afghanistan by using footage taken by the soldiers.

Arkansas native Wendy Anderson of Strong Eagle Media was a high ranking official in the Department of Defense, but left to help make films like “Citizen Soldier.”

“Our principle objective has been, again, to help tell some of these extraordinary stories of our guys as they have happened before the stories are forgotten,” said Anderson.

“This is the real thing. This isn’t a John Wayne movie about the war. This is the war and I hope people will say ‘wait a minute, what are we doing? Why are we doing this?’” said Joe Walsh.

The movie will be a limited release in early August and available in Walmart stores August 23.
