Change in seasons and focus

Admittedly I don’t believe anyone (including my own family) even read this blog. I’ve resigned myself to that fact long ago. Lately, I’ve come to the realization that the things that I and many others thought were important are simply not. Odd songs and art are starting to reasonate with me. Below are two cases in point:

Worth a listen!

My friend Aaron turned me on to TimeCop1983 a while a back. This particular song represents many of my current emotions and concerns about life. Lyrics:

DON’T LET GO

CHORUS
THIS IS NOT THE END ALL BE ALL
THIS IS NOT THE LAST OF WHAT WE KNOW
THIS IS NOT A CHANGE IN FORTUNE
THIS IS LIFE, LIVE IT, DON’T LET GO

V1
SPEND OUR DAYS
SEARCHING FOR
ONE KIND WORD
IS IT SO HARD TO IMAGINE
A WORLD WHERE WE DON’T TURN TO HURT
SLEEPLESS NIGHTS
HOLDING ON
TO THE FEAR
TRYING TO GET FREE FROM THE SELF DOUBT
THE TRUTH IS A HARD THING TO HEAR
YOUR TOMORROW
THROUGH THESE EYES
HEART AND SOUL
EVERYTHING GROWS OLD THE CYCLE
HOLDS US TOGETHER SO TOGETHER WE FLY OR FOLD

CHORUS
THIS IS NOT THE END ALL BE ALL
THIS IS NOT THE LAST OF WHAT WE KNOW
THIS IS NOT A CHANGE IN FORTUNE
THIS IS LIFE, LIVE IT, DON’T LET GO

DON’T LET GO, DON’T LET GO,
DON’T LET GO, DON’T LET GO, DON’T LET GO

Katy and her team do such a cool job of cautioning us against being a part of the hamster wheel of life, ignoring the world around us, the chaos of it all, the risk that I am letting my hands off the wheel and drifting with the tides of life. I want to find meaning in my life, for my life to mean something.
