If you’re not reaching your goals, maybe you are too busy solving other people’s problems.

If you feel that you aren’t productive enough, then one of the best things that you can do for yourself (and others!) is to stop solving other people’s problems. Women especially struggle with this issue. Because we know how to do certain things well, we think it is easier to do it ourselves than take the time to train people to handle things on their own. In my opinion, this is one of the biggest mistakes that you can make in your life and career. Resist the urge to solve problems and complete difficult tasks for others. Step in only when you are needed. They will develop their own leadership skills, AND, they might find a better solution than you even know about. I share my story about this and offer more tips on productivity on my WebTV Channel at Pittsburgh BizTV Shows. Enjoy, and pass it on.
