I resist being the me she knows until the movie ends. By the time I got to Brown’s, I just bloody knew everyone would be staring at me. They stare because I’m strange-looking, I’ve been mocked before. Minging. It stays with me. The room stops to think for a moment about how not to behave. Janise is my rock, she is the third-best bodybuilder in the region. I’m rich, beyond my retirement. I bring her to the Sunday book club. It might not seem like the steamiest of dates but I’m smart. I’m a 5 she’s a 10. I realised the more I read romantic stories, the more right ideas stuck in my mind; steps to swoon, being mysterious, making the beauty mine! She doesn’t say much in the beginning but I get to ask her the bold questions.

My retirement is built on three things: Rationale, money and effort. I’m more of a manly man but I read THE BURN FOR THE MANOR’S BACHELOR. I make something up for the room, even if the main character has some rather edgy thoughts and ramblings…There were some mighty gemstones in there for me to remember. I even mention some of them to see if I’m on the right track.

I’m misled by Janise. She briefs the room on the 80s, she says that I became obsessed with movies back then. Then she spoke to everyone else, beautifully. Then, I thought my eyes were deceiving me… subtitles in a big box just slid in below her. More than freaked, I turned to everyone else. No reactions…
