So well said. I lost my daddy in 1993 — he was the one who introduced me to Cardinals baseball and got me hooked, BTW.

I agree with everything you said. It’s important to allow yourself to feel the grief, and not try to repress it by “keeping yourself busy.” I spent a full month holding it together at work, and coming home to sob and let down for about 30 minutes every day.

I’ve had a couple of dreams about him — where he came back for the day, etc. They’ve been a comfort as, just for a while, I get to have him in my life again.

Thoughts and prayers are with you as your grieve; you’re right, it never does go away, but it does become bearable.
