The reasons I’ve stated are what I’ve heard are the most common reasons that white working class voters feel left behind. I’m not saying they’re not racist. I think the unconscious racism is the root of all of it. But there is a real sense of unease in this country because of the disappearing of the middle class that is not only explained by racism. What I am trying to posit is that white nationalists are gaining support because they are providing a scapegoat, however wrong that scapegoat is. The “left” is not doing a good enough job providing alternative solutions. Mainly because they’re too busy fighting amongst themselves and bashing Trump.
