Not to sound condescending or corny or something I can’t think of and this should be a private email, but you aren’t over the hill. I’m much older so I don’t think anyone ever made those stupid/patronizing assumptions about me out loud or else I don’t remember. And I can only speak from my own experience but I followed a similar trajectory as you seem to have and I did manage to have a child in my late 40s. True it wasn’t — and isn’t — ideal. I did do it by myself and I did adopt and it did take me a long long time to change my mind set and ‘take the leap’ partially because I wanted to make enough money to support a child but also because of fear etc., but, for me, it’s really been worth it. Just a thought…
