You’re right about economic privilege and race privilege being two different things. I didn’t grow up in poverty but I grew up in an integrated area, both race and class wise, and I feel very fortunate.
On another note, there’s a really good memoir by Margo Jefferson called Negroland that’s about growing up as an upper class person of color; if you have time, check it out.
