What is vaping and how does an e-cigarette work?
Vaping is the act of inhaling and exhaling the vapour produced by heating e-liquid through an electrical device called a vaporizer or e-cigarette. Vaping is not the same as smoking because there is no combustion.
What’s in e-liquid?
E-liquid typically contains 4 ingredients:
- Propylene Glycol (or PG) which gives more of a “throat hit” sensation and carries the flavour very well;
- Vegetable Glycerine (or VG) which is thicker than PG, gives less “throat hit”, but produces more vapour;
- Natural or Artificial flavourings as found in food and drinks
- Nicotine (Note: In Australia, the sale of e-liquid with nicotine is illegal)
