7 Days to Go: Turning 50! 50 GlowTips I’m sharing to Spread the Glow!

7 Days to go until I turn 50! So I’ve decided to share 50 GlowTips to Get Your Glow ON — one per day, in no particular order of importance and just as they come to me…

And here’s GlowTip 44: The best friendships are always the easiest!

Friendships aren’t supposed to be hard work. And the best friendships are always the easiest.

It’s such a pleasure to kick back and relax with friends, when you can just let it all hang out and be yourself. You don’t have to ‘make conversation’. You can talk about anything. You can laugh about everything! You don’t have to stand on ceremony and mind your Ps and Qs. And you don’t have to be on your guard, or tiptoe on eggshells around them.

I can’t be bothered with high-maintenance friendships where people get their noses of out of joint if you haven’t checked in with them and informed them of your every move. (I can’t be bothered with people who get their noses out of joint at all!).

True friendships pick up where they left off, no matter how long it’s been since you’ve seen each other — it doesn’t feel like any time has passed at all! And you can pick up the phone after months — and then talk for hours!

It doesn’t matter who they are, or where they’re from; the one thing that all my friends have in common is they love a good laugh! We laugh at life, we laugh at ourselves and we laugh at each other — there are no sacred cows!

A lot of the memories that stand out the most for me are times spent laughing with friends. Often we’ll remind each other of the funny things that happened before (sometimes from 20 years ago!) — and then we start laughing hysterically at the memory, all over again!

I don’t do friendships that are heavy going. I like to keep things light and easy.

That doesn’t mean we’re not there for each other. It means that we can laugh our way through the tough times and celebrate the Good Times!

The best friendships are the ones where we can be ourselves and enjoy ourselves and Get our Glow ON!
