I agree, but I don’t think we should write off typing too quickly. I believe there will continue to be contexts in which interfaces to data or transactions will be needed, but speaking to a device would be inappropriate. It’s also important to remember that there are people who cannot speak. So rather than focusing exclusively on spoken language we should probably talk about the different forms of conversational interfaces, spoken and written.
