Not quite.

Women are conditioned early on to not be as self-assured. We are told that if we are good enough, someone will notice us.

It was a message I got loudly and clearly through my childhood and schooling. So when women aren’t recognized, they assume it’s because they weren’t good enough.

We’re also told that people who ask for things are greedy and pushy, and that the worst qualities in a woman are to be greedy and pushy. So we don’t ask.

Does that make sense?
