A Night Out in North London

Ahhh… North London, 357.6 square miles of pure heaven. Not quite, but close enough.

We at Bevvs have had a go at composing an average North London night out.
“Average” probably isn’t the correct word to use, since a North London night out is anything but average!

Disclaimer: Bevvs advises you to take this blog with a pinch of salt (and a shot of tequila). Encapsulating an epic North London night out into a few short paragraphs is nigh on impossible, we recommend you take the plunge yourself.

With the legalities out of the way; where does the nightlife aficionado start…?

Well, the options are endless and it largely depends on your personal preference. That being said, we highly recommend you start, not slow, but methodical in your approach.

The solution?

The Nags Head. Straight from the horses mouth, they describe; a quirky pub offering cocktails and artisan pizzas, perfect for the lunchtime snack and the after-work drinks. If you love great pub food, then you’ll love The Nags Head.

Pub food? No, we’re not having that. We’ve had great pub food, The Nags Head are as modest as they are quirky. Gourmet pub food might be a more apt description. Does that mean it’s ridiculously expensive? No, surprisingly. Quite reasonable.

Located in Islington, it’s the choice that makes the most sense.

With full tums and a happy face it’s with a heavy heart we have to say goodbye to The Nags Head, until next time and move on.

Onwards and upwards!

We don’t want you walking (rolling) too far now. Our choice? The Bar With No Name.

That’s its name… 69 Colebrooke Row… if you’re confused.

There’s no other way to say it, it’s a damn cool place.

Identifiable by an outdoor lantern, the interior blends 1950’s Italian Café style with a Film Noir feel (we told you it was cool). It’s all about the cocktails. They use esoteric ingredients that have been developed in Drink Factory — the research and development laboratory located near to Broadway Market #science In short, they’re good.

The guests are often serenaded by live music, usually jazz. We love it.

If you’re still not full from our last stop, they offer a bespoke food menu with options such as olives, salami and cured ham (bite size). They use cool French and Portuguese words on their menu though.

By all means stay there all night. We’ve got another stop though.

Au Revoir!

We’re sticking with the cocktail theme because, well, we enjoy them.

All aboard!! Next stop — The London Cocktail Club.

A short walk up Essex Road, hopefully you still have coherent use of your limbs.

Set in a mischievous house away from home, it’s loud, extroverted and unashamedly awesome. You’ve tasted chic on ‘Cool’brooke Row, in contrast, London Cocktail Club is dark, down and dirty.

There are seven, yes seven, locations in London so you know they have experience when it comes to dealing with the *ahem* nightlife aficionado.

If you love their cocktails like we do and feel inspired to try your hand at making them, why not book a masterclass for the next morning. Maybe not the next morning…

Furthermore, if you’re there for purposes other than cocktail tasting, head out the back to the self-proclaimed A&E (Alcohol & Entertainment). Enjoy yourself.

Taxi!!

“Home… please *hiccup*…”

We hope you find this helpful and gives an insight into North London life.
