Drama with a Message Delivered by Passionate Actors

Margaret Curry’s new production company, Deep Flight took on a big challenge right out of the gate. These two, seldom produced plays by Lanford Wilson are not crowd-pleasing for their anything-but-happily-ever-after-endings; instead, their difficult, alienating subjects of AIDS and childhood molestation may repel many theatergoers despite the power of the language and rich characterizations that Wilson realizes for Tom and Diane, the solo characters in each play. But these are major chapters in the human story. Some may look away, but I believe we need to hear them.

I recently observed the final performance of this play on February 25, 2024, at the Siggy in The Flea Theater.
