Brace for the Worst
Alex Oš

The thing is, ads suck. Websites that use “counter ad blockers” to me would be equivalent to geneticists designing “counter vaccine viruses.” Any publisher who insists on forcing me to click through a dozen popups to catch a glimpse of their content is never going to get my eyeballs on their stuff. Further, any advertiser who forces their way onto my screen has not only forfeited my business, they have earned my ire. So now they’re not just annoying, they’re malware as far as I’m concerned. At the point where legit advertising and malicious software become indistinguishable, it’s clearly time to find a new way to pay for the Internet.
