We don’t have to, and can’t be, an old version of ourselves
Zee Zaki

We’re all growing. Not all of us are healing, not all of us are grappling with mental illness or physical illness…But we’re all growing and reshaping ourselves.

This is a rich philosophical deposit to mine today, Zee, and thanks. We should never feel like we’re doing something wrong when we periodically reinvent ourselves throughout life. It’s even weird, now that you’ve led me to think about it this morning, that our society sets the “norm” that we ought to expect to be the same person for 82 years and then die. I can’t imagine aspiring to that. Staying the same is not proof of well-being, it’s proof of stagnation. Your post is inspiring. Thanks.
