This is one futurist prediction that does not give me hope, Joshua. I read way too much science fiction in the ‘70s through ’90s to see any kind of happy ending to the human story once we take genetic control away from nature. It seems to me that if the whole point of evolution is that it allows life to adapt to changing environmental conditions, then humans having the power to adapt to preference instead of actual conditions is a real problem.
