YES. The basic problem is not finding common ground with the Right, so much as standing for the truth that their agenda is based on a set of entrenched false premises. Climate change is probably the clearest example of this, and you nailed that dichotomy in your post. There can be no environmental common ground with people who deny the science and say there is no problem. Your point is spot on that deniers deny not because they have better science (they say that, but they’re wrong), but because a religious-based view of the earth, and an irrational commitment to industrial age growth-at-all-costs Capitalism, convince them climate change is not a problem. How does the Left find common ground with that? We don’t. We have to not give in, and fight to root out the false premises. Bravo.
