Fashion Forward: Joaquín Bondoni Proves Style Matters

A young, emerging Mexican fashion icon changes attitudes by changing clothes.

As the popular Mexican telenovela Juntos El Corazón Nunca Se Equivoca comes to an end this week, fans are preparing to say goodbye to their beloved show and its trailblazing stars.

The stars of the show, Emilio Osorio (as “Aris” Corcega) and Joaquín Bondoni (as “Temo” Lopez), are known internationally by their couple name, Aristemo. Aristemo gained attention, and a devoted fan following, for their earlier series, Mi Marido Tiene Más Familia, on which they became the first gay couple to share a kiss on national broadcast TV in Mexico.

As their onscreen characters advance LGBTQ rights through the sensitive portrayal of a youthful, committed same-sex relationship, Osorio and Bondoni have been active off-screen champions of equality. The boys have shared their message of amor es amor in multiple interviews and in a stage musical that regularly tours cities in Mexico. At the end of each production of the musical, the boys share an onstage kiss, and during the encore they wave rainbow flags as fans wildly cheer them on.
