BFEX welcomes Michael H. J. Gomes

BFEX would like to welcome Michael H.J. Gomes to BFEX’s Advisory Board as a Business Advisor.

Michael H. J. Gomes, an established international business expert, with experience in Management, HR, Training, Construction and Development, Real Estate, F&B and Retail Operations, Product Development, Procurement, Marketing and PR, Service Excellence and General Advisory and Consulting Services.

Michael began his career in the city of London working as a foreign exchange assistant at Standard and Chartered Bank in London.

From 1976 to 2002 he joined McDonald’s as a part-time crew member and worked up the ladder to Senior Area Supervisor in charge of 114 restaurants in London– eventually getting involved internationally in the opening of multiple countries in the Middle East and was instrumental in the opening of McDonald’s in India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

He was appointed to VP of Operations, Asia Pacific and the Managing Director of McDonald’s Thailand.

Michael then moved on to manage a supplier of high-grade professional kitchen equipment, Allied Metals (Thailand) Co. Ltd., as the Managing Director. After 4 years and successfully handing over the management to the owners siblings.

He held the position of Group Director/Senior Vice President of the Shops and Service Centers of DTAC, Thailand’s 2nd largest mobile phone operator. Michael successfully applied his know how and changed the service and operations standards of the company’s and franchises, Shops and Service Centres.

In 2009, Michael joined Fico Corp. as the CEO of Fena Assets where he was responsible for the overall management and setting of Strategic Direction for various businesses within the Group including Hospitality, F&B, Real Estate, Retail and Textiles. He was overseeing the operations of leading names such as Novotel, Holiday Inn, Marriot, Aigner, Versace, Longchamp and Vertu.

From 2011 to 2015, Michael was the Executive Vice President / COO of Wine Connection Co. Ltd, responsible and managing all departments of the Company. Michael, using his vast experiences and knowledge helped the company grow exponentially both in Thailand and Singapore, Michael was also instrumental in leading Wine Connection to be successfully acquired (60%) by an Investment group.

Since then Michael has is involved in many projects both as advisor and consultant, and holds Directorship with many Companies in Thailand and Internationally.
