Interesting results, I am very curious about the performance difference for the same workload as well. My take on it is that the i5’s turbo boost to 3.2GHz is probably the reason why it still works so well on single threaded JavaScript engines.

It probably won’t do well in multi-threaded workloads, but maybe the rumored MacBook refresh during the WWDC in June changes all that with the new 8th gen Intel chips. But yeah, who wants that touch bar? 😒
