Great overview to help brands understand how to leverage voice interfaces like Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple’s Siri, etc. Another interesting service is Houndify, which offers more context in complex requests, but with limited hardware available.
Another interesting thing to note is that “ordering” is not completely accurate. Most services can offer a reorder of a saved item or previous order, but new orders are too complex. Google Assistant demoed examples with Panera at Google IO 2017 that got closer to a new order, but haven’t seen anything readily available since.
Consider voice interactions for quick hit items. More research is in the works to help shed light on the types of patience a user will have when accessing information, but initial research suggests limits that support a handful of questions.
