#StoryByStrangers
“””Haaachooooooo” – Damn ! It was one of those sweaty summer days & I was still recovering from a bad cold!
Well, couldn’t really blame the climate ; maybe I should have been more careful the previous night!
Though the night was rough, I’m not gonna regret any minute jus coz i spent with you, climates may come back, days may roll over love for you, jus stays like a beautiful drizzle before the war.
Though I hate to take medicines, I was looking for something which would relieve me of my cold and then I started to make a strong ginger tea for myself. I have always loved the aroma. I switched on the TV as I had nothing else to do.
Switching over the channels and I stopped at a news channel instantly. There had been a bomb blast in Indira Nagar, not more than 8 miles from where I stay. Then it instantly hit me, that’s the area exactly where she stays. The love of my life. The tea cup slipped from my hands and broke into what seemed like million pieces.
The very next moment I find myself in my car, frantically trying to switch it on and reach the spot. Every moment felt like an eternity!
Memories fleeted across my mind ,of how we synced and how we introduced each other to their own world. It was those differences that excited us both and I saw it in her eyes .I came to reality as I hit the sudden break in the signal and I also had to pause my thoughts of her .Cursing the signal ,I kept dialing for her memorized number without much of a thought ,only to find myself reaching her automated voice mail! Sigh!
And then,I lately realised that I’ve missed out on a person whom I should have treasured. We only focused on what made us inseparable rather than things that could take us away which was stronger than our love for each other. May be I should overcome those days where. I sleep less and cry more silently ,inside my blanket grabbing my stomach to bear the ache. People say “ Good things happen late” , perhaps this could have been one for our lives!!
Finally, I reached there! I got out of the car. The place was covered with smoke. I could hardly see. People where screaming, I could hear children crying. I literally don’t know where to search her. When I tried getting into a street, a police stopped me and told that there were so many dead bodies scattered around. I was in a situation like I lost everything and there is nothing left to live.
In pain I started Running and screaming the name of my love and i somehow manged to move ahed in the messed up street and sighted a lady sitting like she had seen enough of life and death, I gathered my courage to reach to her, with the teary-eyes she hugged me so hard that I could feel her heartbeat, that’s my love I took a. relieved nod and hugged her tighter. The car was at a distance so had to carry her in my arms and we rushed to the hospital. In the doctors report it said lung cancer last stage “but she had quit smoking years ago” I asked the doctor with a swollen heart, because. of the excessive inhaled smoke in the fire the cancer cells have kicked back and she had only a few days to live.
I really wish the doctor comes back to me and say “sorry the reports are not her’s, she’s absolutely fine and you can take her home right away” but unfortunately the truth is shattering my heart into pieces. Now what should I be happy about? She survived the bomb blast or the borrowed time that we got to say a good bye to each other?
Though the time at hospital felt like forever his mind was pacing at a faster pace. All the moments with her was flashing in front of him. He remebered the night he met her, the stares that turned to glances, long scooty rides, exploring food joints and the non stop talks. Time flew by beside her. Let it be a year month or day with her, he made a promise himself to treat her like a queen. His queen.
He came back to her bedside held her hand and with all tears in his eyes, kissed it. He was sitting beside her all night rewinding the days with her. It was 7 AM, still he was beside her holding hands and she woke up to it. They both smiled at each other. When she was about to utter any word, the doctor entered the room.
With all the love in his heart for her he thought that the doctor would say the reports are wrong. But as the doctor entered the room with lots of files and a nurse with a tray of medicines. Doctor said: Hey young man, can i talk to u for a second? He left the room with full of hopes.
They entered the room and doctor said.
I don’t know how you are related to her, but I know u r someone who would lose anything for her.
This is a verg serious medical condition and she is really far from the hands of medical science.
I will do everything as a doctor but you should help me to bring back the faith and willpower i her.
Ajay was so happy, thinking about doing everything to do for her…
And he plans to recreate everything that they did together and he could just imagine how happy and charming she used to be those days…
He started off writing a diary, an episodes filled with all those memorable moments since the day they met.
Ajay wrote each chapter when she was asleep, and when she wakes up Ajay narrates the chapter to her. The best part of chapters are, those were the sweetest memories which was untold to her in person due to the hush and fear of being embarrassment he had within. The first chapter was titled as, “My insecurities”.
Days filled with these chapters, and finally the time had come to bid farewell. It is never easy to see someone die, but death was the necessary evil for life to bloom. And in last years the diary went onto to become the most famous tragic love novel. And with that Myra shut the book with tears in her eyes and smile on her lips as she sipped onto her chai gazing past the drizzingly clouds her mind clouded with just one thought ‘the story always begins from the very end, doesn’t it?’
Myra thought back to her college days. She remembered how on her fist day, she had bumped into Ajay and how they instantly hit it off. She liked him very much. She could see herself with him in the future, for many years to come. All was going great, until that bitch came into their lives. Swathi. She was just another girl from her class. Sweet and innocent. At first, she didn’t mind her talking to him. But as time went by, she could see her getting closer to her. He was paying much more attention to her and they started hanging out more. Soon Myra realised she had lost Ajay to that bitch. She would never forget the day Ajay rejected her proposal. He told her that he didn’t see her in such a way and that he loved Swathi. Ooh, how she hated her. That’s around the time when Myra started hearing the voices in her head. Sweet voices asking her to get rid of Swathi. She resisted for months. But finally, one day, she couldn’t take it any more. Swathi had to go and she knew exactly how it had to be done. Making a bomb was not that hard in the 21st century, especially when YouTube showed exactly how to. She knew where Swathi lived. It all came together like clockwork and now Swathi was gone and Ajay belonged to her. Just her.
Myraa was smiling commemorating the first time she saw Ajay, that night was young and he was wearing a black shirt, he had a cute smile, deep set eyes and dark hair which gave her an adrenaline rush. She was blushing and she just couldn’t get out of that divine memory and that’s when she gets a net call from an anonymous identity.
It was a young women’s voice, and all that she said was “no matter what, you can never bury the truth, I’ve made my first move with knight and think carefully before you make yours”
Knight was one of the thoughtful piece from chess and Myraa thought to herself “who is this new anonymous enemy? Where could I possibly go wrong” she was drenched in sweat realising that there was a glitch in her plan.
