A Nation on Edge: Could This Be Our Last True Democratic Election?

Let’s be real — every presidential election feels monumental, but this year’s stakes are unprecedented. On November 5th evening (and possibly the 6th, as we hold our breath for results), people across the country and around the world will be glued to their screens and Internet, watching as if it’s the finale of a suspense-filled series. But this election isn’t just about who wins, it’s about the future direction of our nation.

Biden: The Consequential President

Let’s start with President Biden. He won the 2020 election fair and square! If you think otherwise, get over it!. He’s used his presidency to rebuild fractured alliances, restoring the U.S. as a global leader within NATO and beyond. Despite a slim majority, he’s managed to pass critical legislation in infrastructure, healthcare, and renewable energy, laying a solid foundation for growth and progress. Many now view his presidency as the most consequential since FDR, with achievements that extend beyond buzzwords and into real, lasting impact.

The Great Pantsuit Debate: Kamala’s Laugh vs. Trump’s Twitter Storm

As for the current race, we’ve all heard endless commentary on Kamala Harris — her laugh, her tone, her attire. Meanwhile, Trump’s speeches, packed with untruths, conspiracy theories, and divisive language, are met with a shrug from many of the same people who mock Harris. Since 2016, Trump has transformed the White House into a drama-laden reality show, marked by chaos and tweets that could crown him the “Caps Lock King” of social media. His policies only benefited mega-corporations and billionaires, often at the expense of everyday Americans.

Kamala Harris: Not Everyone’s First Choice, But a Strong One

It’s true that Kamala Harris wasn’t everyone’s first pick for president. But she’s proven herself as a public prosecutor, California Attorney General, U.S. Senator, and Vice President. She’s tough, unflinching, and prepared to face world leaders head-on. As Prosecutor and Attorney general, she was tough on crime.

You do not have agree with all her policies. She will preserve democracy and will be President for all Americans. Her policies shows commitment to pro-growth, middle-class-focused policies aimed at reducing debt and supporting sustainable growth.

Trump’s Financial “Success” and Multiple Bankruptcies

First, let’s address Trump’s “business acumen.” Born into wealth, he famously received a “small loan” of $1 million from his father. While he’s had some successes, he’s also declared bankruptcy six times — a less impressive record when you consider the many successful business owners who’ve never declared bankruptcy.

His approach to military duty? He dodged it, while mocking veterans who served including the war hero John McCain. His four years in the White House were marked by disrespect for allies and disregard for longstanding traditions, making the U.S. a global punchline. I saw this firsthand while traveling internationally, as people questioned and laughed on how America could elect him.

All he did during the four years was to play golf regularly. He played more golf in his 1st year than Obama’s entire eight years of golf. He lied and spread hate dividing Americans. Trump is someone who will sell this country for a dollar. All he cares is about himself and not anyone else.

Trump’s handling of COVID was abysmal. Initially, he dismissed it as a hoax, only to later take credit for the vaccine. Meanwhile, he branded himself as the “Law & Order” president, yet pardoned convicted criminals.

He was impeached twice and faced 34 criminal charges, yet it’s shocking that he’s still able to run for office and is backed by nearly half the country.

All through his four years in White house and as a candidate he mocked and attacked women and immigrants while his supporters cheered him on.

The Capitol insurrection on January 6, 2021, will remain as a dark day in America. Rather than protecting Americans, he invited and incited a crowd (that is his supporters) that stormed the Capitol, resulting in the deaths of five police officers and injuries to countless others. Since then, some GOP members have shockingly downplayed the attack, calling the rioters “just visitors.” Seriously?

The Consequences of a Trump Return

If Trump returns to the Oval Office, he will surround himself with yes-men, driving the country into chaos and worse. Our international alliances would suffer, casting the U.S. as an isolated and unpredictable player. His economic “plan” will balloon the deficit, and his allies’ Project 2025 might threaten core freedoms. He could misuse the U.S. military against opposition leaders, media, and even citizens like you and me. Sadly, americans will suffer with his planned tariffs, that includes his supporters.

More Than a Vote, It’s a Statement

This election goes beyond party loyalty. It’s about the legacy we leave for our children and grandchildren. Trump’s divisive rhetoric, from mocking immigrants to calling Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage,” is intentionally offensive and un-American.

As former Georgia Lt. Governor Geoff Duncan put it: “If you vote for Kamala Harris in 2024, you’re not a Democrat. You’re a patriot.”

Consider this: do you want to tell your children you voted for someone who stands for democracy, progress, and integrity, or someone more focused on lies, incompetence, and hate?

In Conclusion: Vote for Integrity and Progress

This election is a chance to shape an America we can be proud of — one that values equity, integrity, and opportunity for all. Make your vote count for something bigger than yourself. This is our moment to choose the nation we want for future generations. Your vote truly matters.
