A question that many football pundits and common viewers have been pondering over for a long time. The club started off with meagre means and has still attained the status of the best club in England and respectable European glory too. With 18 league titles and 3 European cups they are probably the best in the country of England, but how do they fare when it comes to comparing them with other top clubs in Europe ? Especially those from Italy and Spain ?

True, they might not have produced as many Ballon’D’Or winners and Fifa World Players, but what they have managed in the modern era is beyond comprehension. Since the inception of the Premier League, they have dominated the scene and look to do so till their legendary manager Sir Alex Ferguson holds the reins at the club. They have had some formidable players like Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best, Eric Cantona, David Beckham, Ruud Van Nistelrooy, Cristiano Ronaldo and now Wayne Rooney, but they have always managed to beat top opposition with mediocre players playing intense football. It is the determination that dominates at the club and once a player wears that Red shirt, nothing but glory comes to mind. Their fan chants are the best recognised in the world and fans back the team like they were family.
Add to that the ‘never say die spirit’ that has been passed down from generation to generation and we have a club where success is something that is expected and not celebrated. They might not be big spending like Real Madrid or completely modest like Barcelona. They might not have the ability to scout for and procure amazing talent from South America like the Milan giants. They might not have the efficiency of the Germans (Bayern Munich) or the flair of Juventus but what they certainly do possess, is the will to win and the belief that they can. That is what makes them what they are.True Global Champions.
