Jordan Visa For Indians after November 2019
I traveled Jordan around 17 Feb 2020, this was the time before Corona Pandemic. In this blog I would share my experience on Visa process for Jordan. As of 1 Dec 2019 Jordan has suspended visa on arrival for the Indians.
Although Indian embassy lists that visa on arrival for Indians have been extended but it doesn’t seem to be the case.
If you are arriving in Jordan for the first time from India, its better to arrange a proper visa before hand else do not enter Jordan on the basis of information available on the Indian embassy site. I had already visited UK, Australia, Japan, South Korea and also had schengen visa so I got visa on arrival.
But once I landed I was thoroughly scrutinized and interrogated. They asked several questions such as purpose of my visit, number of days I would be staying, where I was staying, address of the hotel, if I was having Visa of any of the nations listed above. I replied that I already have Multiple entry visa of Australia and showed them my passport. Then they directed me to a police officer who provided me with a stamped approval letter which can be considered as permission to enter Jordan.
Here is the split of Visa cost:
Cost of Jordan Visa : 40 JD ( 4000 INR or 56 USD) (exchange rate at the time of travelling to Jordan was 1 Jordinian Dinar = 100 INR.
Cost of Jordan Pass : 70 JD (7000 INR or 98 USD)
The Jordan Pass included visa fees, entrance fees for all the major sites in Jordan (Petra, Wadi Rum, Jerash and Amman)
The pass can be purchased online by visiting
