Hey everyone! I’m back with a new evolution post. Today we talk on the journey of iPhone 1 to the iphone 14.

Which includes Apple iPhone iOS 1 to iOS 2, Apple iPhone 3, iOS 4, iOS 5, iOS 6, ios13.6 , ios14, iPhone7, iPhone8, iOS 12, iOS 11.

🔴 iPhone OS 1 :-

iPhone OS 1 is the first version of Apple’s operating system released with the first iPhone in 2007. One very interesting thing that many of you probably don’t know is that it wasn’t called iOS when it was released.

Versions 1–3 were called iPhone OS and with version 4 it was named iOS. This version had no App Store or iTunes Store app but came with Mail, Calendar, Photos, Clock, Text, Safari, Notes, YouTube, Computer, Maps, Settings, Camera, Stocks and Phone.

However, Apple launched the first iOS SDK in 2008 with the iPhone accepting over 500,000 applications.

In 2008, Apple launched iOS 2 with the iPhone 3G and the most important feature of this version was the App Store.

Another important feature introduced by Apple was the iOS SDK, which provided a kit for developing iOS applications.

Microsoft Exchange support for push emails, calendar and contacts has also been introduced. The contact search function was also available.

The successor to the iPhone OS 2 was the iPhone OS3 launched in 2009. This version had a “cut, copy, paste” function that allowed users to move text more easily.

Also the “Spotlight Search” function was introduced which allowed searching at the system level such as contacts, e-mails or other applications.

At the same time support was introduced for MMS video recording support on iPhone 3G and with the new “Voice Memos” application users could record their voice.

Apple dropped the “iPhone OS” naming convention and in 2010 launched the fourth version of the operating system being named iOS 4.

Thus, Apple introduced functions for multitasking, application folders, Wi-Fi connection, verification spelling, customized Spotlight searching and unified inbox.

Other important features introduced were iBooks, FaceTime, Personal Hotspot, AirPrint and Air Play.

iOS 5 was launched in 2011 and came with the iPhone 4S. An important feature introduced on this version was Siri, the virtual assistant that replaced Voice Control.

Siri allowed users to ask questions being able to communicate anything or transcribe text.

Also introduced were iCloud, iTunes Wi-Fi Sync, a feature for syncing with iTunes via Wi-Fi and iMessage, Apple’s instant messaging service. Also, software updates could be installed without the need for a computer.

iOS 6 was launched in 2012 and had a new Apple Maps application, which replaced Google Maps.

This version also included a Podcasts application and an application for managing various tickets or tickets called Passbook.

The Siri app received significant enhancements that provided the ability to provide information about sports scores, programs, Yelp restaurant reviews or OpenTable reservations.

iOS 7 was launched with the iPhone 5s and 5c in 2013. This version had a new design with flatter icons a new slide-to-unlock function and new animations.

At the same time, the notification center has also been improved by providing quick access to several features such as Wi-Fi, Do Not Disturb, Bluetooth, Brightness and Volume Slides, notifications were visible on the lock screen and Siri was improved and updated providing visual indicators.

AirDrop was also introduced, which allowed users to share media files with other people around them. Last but not least, the most important feature of iOS 7 is Touch ID which allows users to unlock their devices using their fingerprint.

In 2014, Apple released iOS 8 and came up with many improvements. The most impressive feature introduced was Continuity, which allowed users to transmit information between mobile devices and computers.

For example users could send and receive text messages or answer phone calls from their computer. Apple first launched HomeKit, an application with which users could control the entire house using the iPhone as a remote control.

Apple has also introduced support for third-party widgets for the first time, which will make it possible for example, to provide weather information.

At the same time improvements have been made on the notifications side which allow for example, the posting of a comment on Facebook directly from the notification.

Apple launched in 2015 the ninth major version of the iOS operating system. The most important improvements were on the stability, speed and performance side.

For example, the Low Power Mode feature ensures the quality of the device’s performance even if the battery is low.

Also to improve performance Siri and advanced search have been combined to provide more accurate information.

At the same time new features have been introduced such as Night Shift, which changes the display colors of the device in warmer shades.

The Notes application offered users the ability to draw sketches and insert images and the Passbook application became the “Wallet” and provided support for loyalty cards, gift cards or credit cards and could also be accessed from the unlock screen.

iOS 10 was released in 2016 and came with changes to the 3D Touch and lock screen.

The “Messages” application has additional emojis the applications could interact with each other, offering the possibility of one application to use features of another application without opening the second application.

“Maps” had a new interface, with the “Home” application users could manage the activated accessories in the “HomeKit”, the “Photos” application had an algorithmic search called “Memories” and “Siri” was compatible with third party applications.

iOS 11 was launched in 2017 and comes with design changes and the lock screen and control center have been completely redesigned.

The Siri application is smarter and can sync and synchronize information across multiple devices giving you the ability to anticipate what the user wants and can also translate English into multiple languages.

Drag and Drop functions allow the user to drag images or content from one application to another and with Files and Finder the user can manage files on both iPhone and iPad.

The following year iOS 12 was launched with the intention of working on older phones even the iPhone 5s.

Perhaps the most anticipated feature was the Screen Time, which displays the number of hours the user spends on the phone and the user can also set application usage limits.

In terms of notifications, they are now grouped and can be managed much better. For example, if the user receives 100 emails they will be grouped not displayed individually.

The “Messages” application had customizable animations called “ Memoji” and allowed users to create a 3D character.

At the same time, Photos allowed the creation of separate folders with content, had a more efficient search and could make video presentations with photos.

iOS 13 was released in 2019 and has improvements to the application update time the application launch time is twice as fast the download of applications takes 50% less compared to the previous version and Face ID is is 30% faster.

Apple has introduced Dark Mode, which changes the look of the operating system to black and also has custom programming.

In the Photos chapter users can adjust the light intensity and the new tools allow users to control any adjustment or filter. Also, almost every tool or effect used for pictures can be used in videos.

iOS 14 will be released this fall and comes with numerous improvements. The widgets have been completely redesigned provide more information and can be added to the main screen.

There is also a new Application Library that automatically organizes applications to make them easier to navigate and view.

As for the calls, they will have a completely new display mode being much more compact.

In terms of messages this version offers the possibility to fix up to nine conversations at the top of the conversation in order to facilitate their access.

There are also new styles and Memoji stickers which have age options face masks and different hair styles and accessories.

The Translate application is completely improved, so if the user returns the phone to landscape mode and touches the unique microphone button to say something, Translate will immediately translate into the chosen language.
