Brand Growth
Brand Growth

Amidst the crucial time that all of us are going through, instead of losing our hopes and letting the time pass, we could focus on making the most of the time. Thanks to the technology, we are all connected and we can easily learn new skills, get ourselves meaningful information and work towards our personal goals. Let’s quarantine and learn so that we can restart with confidence.

Being a marketer for a branding company is a lot of fun as you can be creative as hell (that surely comes from the aura of the design team) rather than being monotonous and limited. …

We think. We think a lot. Creative ideas are needed all the time. But, it is no hidden fact that with so much thinking, a burnout is possible! Creative thinking is not a mandate for a design business only, it is needed in every business or profession, all the time. There are times when you are unable to think of new solutions or the ideas start becoming monotonous. This is all a part of the game. At the end of the day, humans are not robots, nor perfect. In fact that is where all the charm lies.

Overall, is it important to remember that when you work, work and when you play, play. This ideology is inspired by the famous motivational speaker, Jim Rohn. In his speeches, he often talks about this. He says, when you are doing something, make sure the mind, heart, and body is totally into it. It’s not the best practice to be at a beach and think about work and to think of holidays while working. This is so true! Think about it. Half of the mental burden happens due to just over-stretching our thoughts. This leads to a fall in productivity and we also feel over-worked, inspite of the fact that nothing has really been done. This disturbs the mind and a tired mind can surely not be creative. Creativity loves being in a happy space and organizations should strive to create it! …

It all started with our dear friend Sara visiting us. She’s a young entrepreneur and is always open to learning. She is always so curious about things and we love it!

During our conversation over coffee, she happened to ask us, “Hey guys! Have you heard about this term called Neobanks? I have heard it a lot. I am wondering what is it but I am too tired to read about it.”

Her statement just intrigued us and we did a little research!

We don’t belong to the financial industry, but as designers, our job is to make life simpler. …

Storytelling
Storytelling

Storytelling is all about a play of human emotions. And design is about solving problems for humans. There is surely a connect. Perhaps a deep one.

This blog is a compilation of multiple exchange of ideas that happened at Laughing Popcorn’s recent event called “The Curious Case of Design”. The event was meant to inspire conversations and get people thinking about design to create an impact. The event had an interactive talk by Radhika Nathany, the CEO and Brand Strategist at Laughing Popcorn. Read on for some key insights.

The first part was about really understanding stories. What is their structure like, what makes humans love them so much! We started with understanding that stories are essentially build on a basic structure which looks like…

Business is all about people. Strategies, techniques, plans, tools, resources are all needed but a connect, a bond, emotions, and relationships can turn the tables.

Being a good presenter plays a huge role in all this.

Specially in the way business is done today, we hear a lot about making presentations. These could be startups or entrepreneurs pitching their ideas to VCs to pitching to clients for work or perhaps even onboarding the right kind of people.

To get better at presentations, learnings could happen from observing people who are good at it. We made our own list of these top 8 people who have charmed the world with their presentation. Observing their mannerisms in their interviews, talks, writings, could play a huge role in enhancing one’s presentation skills. …

It’s no hidden fact that design works on some principles.
*PAUSE*….thinking….is this actually an unknown fact for many!!??

*RESTART*
Design works on some principles, with contrast being a powerful one. This principle can play a key role in adding visual interest to any design. It can do much more than that though. It can make a visual more comfortable and pleasing for a viewer or could play a key role in making communication more impactful.

That’s pretty design-oriented, let’s just think of this in everyday life context.

Imagine that you are in a garden and happen to observe the plants around. There is a rose plant there and you look at it. What is the first thing you are likely to see? Perhaps the roses. Mostly no one would say, that we saw the leaves first. Why does this happen? What makes the roses stand out? Perhaps it is their colour which is making them stand out against most of the green leaves in the garden. Also, they would be lesser in number than the leaves and will hence stand out. …

Design is meant to make things better. It is meant to solve problems. We thought what if we think like a designer to find some solutions for ‘life’ as a whole.

The problem: There is no balance. There is too much work and little time to play.

Expected Solution: To make work a part of life and not the only purpose of life. Not to ignore its importance and give it 100% efficiency, dedication, and importance but also equally appreciate the other aspects of life.

balance
balance

Well, the thought was enough for us to have a discussion trigger off.

It first started with the acceptance that yes, we totally agree that balance is important. Everyone wants happiness in life. And no one wants to have play at the cost of work and vice versa. Everyone chasing their dreams would agree. They want to live their dreams but also want to do justice to the roles they have been assigned. They want to be dedicated to what they do and yet everyone enjoys a beer or a slice of pizza every now and then. No
one likes to slog it all the time. …

It’s perhaps good to start this thought with the mere acknowledgment of the fact that yes, designing in a ‘process’. It’s not a random approach to painting a pretty picture! Yes, we use that a lot. We say we are not painting pretty pictures, we are designing.

The Process
The Process

Why do we say this? What is the process? We tried to break out what goes inside our abstract yet-amazingly-logical heads into extremely simple, easy to understand language.

kid friendly hospitals
kid friendly hospitals

This is a space most of us have been in, as kids (or perhaps sometimes as adults too). Kids dread going to doctors. And amongst it all, they fear injections the most! Yeah, the tiny little pricky thing could appear as a monster for these innocent souls. Sometimes the fear makes them cry, howl and the parents have to force them to get there.

Is there something that medical centres can do to probably make it less fearful for kids. Can they leave them with some happy memories so that they don’t fear coming back or maybe make the whole experience less painful for both the kids and their parents? How could they position themselves to change this perception? …
