I don’t know if you have ever heard of IoT or Internet of things before but here we’re going to explain everything . No worries !

The internet of things, or IoT, is a system of interrelated computing devices, mechanical and digital machines, for example;

IoT technology for healthcare: A substantial part of this involves the use of technology for improving longevity, quality of life and, of course, reining in healthcare costs. Among the technology domains are medical technology devices for diagnostics, medical procedure assists and delivery of medications and services. Some of the popular areas in healthcare IoT for 2020 are; Robotics, health monitoring and sensing, monitoring and destroying pathogens …

IoT enables companies to automate processes and reduce labor costs. It also cuts down on waste and improves service delivery, making it less expensive to manufacture and deliver goods, as well as offering transparency into customer transactions.

Deeper explaination of IoT:

1) Sensors/Devices: Sensors or devices collect data from their environment.

2) Connectivity: The sensors/devices can be connected to the cloud through a variety of methods such as cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, low-power wide-area networks (LPWAN), or connecting directly to the internet via ethernet.

3) Data Processing: Once the data gets to the cloud, the software performs some kind of processing on it.

4) User Interface: The information is made useful to the end-user in some way. This could be via an alert to the user (email, text, notification, etc).

IoT benefits to organizations:

  • integrate and adapt business models;
  • generate more revenue.
  • monitor their overall business processes;
  • save time and money;
  • improve the customer experience (CX);
