An OPEN organization is a company or organization that, rather than the “normal” CEO's have the ideas and from there it trickles down to everyone else, anyone that has an idea within the company is able to apply and use the ideas to better the company as a whole. This idea is starting to take the cooperate world by storm and with doing so, it is allow for a more innovative work place. Because of this, I have decided to write this article explaining why I (and many of you as well) would strive in a OPEN organization.

1. OPEN organizations are meritocracies NOT democracies.

A meritocracy is a type of organization that is based on a persons abilities and achievements to be promoted rather than just a basic democratic voting system. This is especially good when you as an individual wish to rise within your company. Rather than your normal working extra hard just to try and prove to your employer that you deserve the promotion and find out that someone else had gotten it instead because of some predestined vote. Now with this type of organization, if you work that extra hard to get the promotion, your boss will see that and you may not get that promotion, but your boss will know that you are trying to move and may let you get the next open position.

2. OPEN organizations allow for more people to get involved on the company’s project.

OPEN organizations allow for everyone within the company to have a say on what happens within the company. It allows for the common people to have a say on some of the big changes that would be coming in a later date and allow for them to dispute some problems that they may have with it. This also allows for the CEOs and the network heads to get more involved with the company as a whole, so that they can see what all is actually happening within the common workers. It allows for them to better understand that problems that everyone is dealing with and gives them the opportunity to better fix the issue at hand.

In Conclusion

In summation, an OPEN organization is a company or organization that works from the bottom up rather than the top down. Anyone that has an idea within the company is able to apply and use the ideas to better the company as a whole. This idea is starting to take the cooperate world by storm and is allowing for a more innovative work place.
