Bianca Catherine Knight, a dedicated disability rights attorney, was diagnosed with Leber’s hereditary optic neuropathy (LHON) when she was 28. Despite becoming legally blind, she graduated from Belmont University College of Law in the top 10 percent of her class and now advocates for other individuals with disabilities. In her free time, Bianca Catherine Knight enjoys caring for her two dogs, a Westie named Malcolm and a Goldendoodle named Baxter.

A playful and fun-loving breed, the Goldendoodle is perfect for singles, seniors, and families with children. Most Goldendoodles are extremely affectionate with their family and other dogs if they are well socialized. From the time they are puppies, these dogs should get plenty of time playing with other dogs and their family members. This helps ensure they stay affectionate into adulthood and are not aggressive. Further, Goldendoodle puppies that socialize with a wide type of people helps lessen their apprehension when meeting strangers in the future.

Beyond socialization, Goldendoodles need proper grooming and health care to stay happy. Grooming this breed is relatively easy since they do not shed or drool a lot. However, they are at moderate risk for weight gain and general health problems. For this reason, owners should talk to their vet about choosing the best diet for their dogs and be sure to keep a consistent health care routine for these wonderful pets.
