Passion meets work — In this brief interview, Jill B. Tan gives us an inside scoop on her life as a business woman, blogger, and proud mom-to-be.

It all began from humble beginnings. As a young woman filled with wanderlust and an immense love for food, she decided to put those two things together and turned it into what is now her food, travel, and lifestyle blog, The Food Scout.

According to Jill, she travels for food. The world is her oyster. For Jill, it has always been a dream of hers to see the beauty and taste all the flavors that this world has to offer. And with her love for food and travel, along with her heart for photography and writing, she knew that her food journeys were something worth sharing to others. That is how The Food Scout was born. Jill hopes to reach out to other wanderlust foodies like her. She continues to create content for blog to share her experiences with her readers, who she believes are constantly discovering theirselves and the places and flavors around them.

After she had created The Food Scout, she and her husband had decided to start their own gadget business called Juan Gadget. The couple shared the same love for food, traveling, photography, and blogging. They believed that needed to become more resourceful. They could not always rely on constantly buying gadgets for themselves. Inspired by their passion, creativity, and color lifestyle, Jill and her husband pursued a small business together wherein they would sell cameras and other digital gadgets at a reasonable price.

Jill believes that their products in Juan Gadget are for Filipinos who are “budget conscious.” She says that their products are sold at a reasonable price as compared to the ones sold in shopping malls. Juan Gadget is for all people. Whether you belong to the class C-D or class A-B, Juan Gadget is a place where everyone can afford quality photography and videography products. That is why she constantly creates content to promote her products and continuously keep her audience updated with the latest gadget they have in store for them.

As final note, Jill shares that the biggest lesson she learned from becoming a blogger and businesswoman is to keep going. Even amidst failures, it is important to never stop doing what you are doing because she believes that there is always room for more learning and improvement not only in the quality of our work, but also in how we are as persons.
