Building Budapest’s Future
The next chapter in empowering regional startups to flourish
I am an extremely lucky guy… since the beginning of my career, I have always loved my job. My work is my passion and I love what I do. I love that I am surrounded by super smart entrepreneurs, tech people, mentors and investors and that I am flooded by an enormous amount of learning and inspiration everyday. During the last few years I have been driven by the mission to create a supportive environment in Budapest that enables startups to flourish. I used to work as a tech marketer and I was involved in starting one of the first international accelerators in Hungary. Exactly two years ago I joined Design Terminal. Boy, it has been a hell of a ride.
We organized hundreds of events and brought dozens of world-class speakers to Budapest. We created opportunities for local startups to discover the US market and gain exposure at high-level events such as SXSW, where we organised the first delegation visiting from our beloved Budapest and got Prezi and Ustream in the official program. We also launched Techlab, a non-equity accelerator, supported by a top-notch mentor pool and dynamic program design. Our ambitious goal was to advance Budapest’s tech and creative ecosystem to the next level — and while it’s not my job to decide if we succeeded, I certainly believe that we have helped many entrepreneurs and I am happy because I felt that I could create value with my work every single day.
Although the last two years have been undisputedly the happiest and most crucial part of my personal and professional development, I couldn’t be more excited for what comes next. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that I am joining the Mosaik project as Co-Founder & CEO to build the most supportive coworking and startup community.
Mosaik is more than just a collection of square footage and desk space. Mosaik is a purpose-driven startup community ready to level up the Budapest tech scene. We provide amazing support for Budapest based entrepreneurs with a platform for learning, connecting and growing in the friendliest coworking space in town. Currently we are working extremely hard so we can start operations and open our doors in front of the tech community by the end of April. In the meantime you may check out our brand new website to learn more about our amazing services, and the various membership types or you can book a tour to be amongst the first ones who check out the space.
One of the things that have inspired me the most in the past years has been the amazing community of entrepreneurs, creators and tech enthusiasts that I’ve met and worked with to build Budapest into the tech capital of the CEE region. As I continue on to my next adventure at Mosaik, I’m excited to continue collaborating together to expand our collective impact on the scene. I’m always open to new ideas and projects that will improve Budapest and would love to hear your thoughts on how we can do this together.
Even though I won’t be involved in Design Terminal Techlab’s daily operations anymore, I will follow the program as a mentor to help our portfolio companies and support the incubation team. Also, I am super glad because Mary Collins and Dorottya Gál will take over to lead the program as this is a guarantee for me that everything will go smoothly.
