I’m really not so sure this has anything to do with being gay, but perhaps more to do with being a teenager with emotional issues or depressive tendencies.

I knew of several young women growing up around your age who also tried to OD with Tylenol. None were gay and all came from loving families, so far as I could tell, much like yours… which as you note was already accepting of gay family members, too.

Being a teenager is tough for anyone and the last thing we need to do is baby kids more than we already are. Suck it up and welcome to the world.

Not everything in life is about your sexual orientation and some sort of ongoing discrimination. It’s just as unhealthy and weird to frame every experience as a “lesbian experience” (or whatever) as it would be totally off-base if a heterosexual white male did the same thing. We don’t accept that behavior in white men (i.e., male chauvinist pig!), nor should we in others.

You’re more than who you choose to love or sleep with and frankly, whether straight or gay some acronym in between, it’s TMI.

Just live your life.
