The First and Last Truth
umair haque

Yes, the step untaken. I know of many in my family’s past. And my own. And last week I read about the improbability of even star and planet formation. But that is backwards to what we experience. If not this star and planet forming, then another would have — there are so many. And if my parents and grandparents had taken different steps or been caught by border guards or disease had defeated us, then someone else would have gone forward. We have a collective and distributed existence as a species, as a life form. Our conceit is individuality. We can play to that conceit — and be grateful. And we can also realize that the wave of the universe rolls on.
