Organizing My Art Supplies and My New Shelves

A small space of my own

It’s just a couple of shelves tucked into a corner of my bedroom, but it’s making me incredibly happy.

My art and craft supplies have to share space with my books, but I don’t mind.

My boyfriend brought home the large bookshelf recently, and this was the space where my dresser was before he rearranged everything for me.

Now it’s my little arts and crafts nook. It’s already overflowing.

I’ve rearranged things a few times already, and today I’m going to do it all over again.

I still don’t have enough space for everything, so some things are going o have to stay in boxes. I have collected three large open boxes with hand holds from shopping at Costco, and these work great and are stackable.

I mostly store my papers in the boxes, everything else for crafts is going on the shelves. Most of my painting supplies are still in the garage.

Three of the shelves are devoted to reading books (as opposed to junk journals and altered books that I am making and selling), the bottom shelf and the top two shelves, so that my craft supplies can go in the middle where they are more accessible.

I have to find spots for my boxes and baskets of adhesives, stencils, tools, scissors, punches, fabrics, and everything else.

The fabrics are the biggest issue becasue they are so bulky. They may have to stay in the garage as well.

I need an entire craft room, but that won’t happen any time soon unfortunately.

This is my best option for now.
