I came accross this approach once, whilst observing a group of school kids camping next to ours. The teacher insist on the student to explain on the prank made by the student.
From my observation such kind of disciplinarian action taken will have a longer lasting effect on the student. He will start thinking on why he do such and such before actually doing them.
The act of explaining his prank will be a good training for him especially in communication… worst case scenario he turn out to be a lawyer .
